Process Control Engineering

The definition of a technical process in accordance with DIN 6622 is as follows: A process is the forming and / or transport of matter, energy or information. The state variables of technical processes can be measured, controlled and / or regulated by technical means.

This means that the technical processes must be performed externally, with all the coordination, regulation and control functions required. Processes in production technology can basically be divided into the fields of manufacturing engineering and process control engineering in the production areas. The production areas differ greatly in their production processes, which is why they make different demands on the automation systems used and the method of process control.
